A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N901NK performing flight NK-713 from Orlando,FL to Houston Intercontinental,TX (USA), was in the initial climb out of Orlando's runway 18L when the crew reported they had a bird strike on departure climbing through about 3500 feet MSL, had some damage to the leading edge of the left hand wing and requested to stop climb. The aircraft levelled off at 6000 feet and returned to Orlando for a safe landing on runway 18R about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration N605NK reached Houston with a delay of 4:20 hours.

The FAA reported the aircraft sustained unknown damage.
