Khartoum experienced torrential rains and floodings around the time of the landing.
On Aug 21st 2017 Sudan's AAICD reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated. During landing on runway 18 the aircraft veered off the runway and came to a stop at a distance of 138 meters/450 feet left of the turn pad runway 36 and a heading of 150 degrees. The aircraft did not sustain any damage.
