A Cham Wings Airbus A320-200, registration YK-BAA performing flight 6Q-651 from Damascus (Syria) to Khartoum (Sudan), landed on Khartoum's runway 18 at about 05:57L (02:57Z) but went off the runway and came to a stop with all gear on soft ground. No injuries are being reported, the aircraft received minor if any damage. The passengers disembarked via mobile stairs onto the soft ground and were bussed to the terminal.

Khartoum experienced torrential rains and floodings around the time of the landing.

On Aug 21st 2017 Sudan's AAICD reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated. During landing on runway 18 the aircraft veered off the runway and came to a stop at a distance of 138 meters/450 feet left of the turn pad runway 36 and a heading of 150 degrees. The aircraft did not sustain any damage.
