An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FMZD performing flight AC-1230 from Montreal,QC (Canada) to Orlando,FL (USA) with 90 people on board, was climbing through 15,000 feet when the crew decided to return to Montreal due to abnormal vibrations of the airframe and unusual noise from the passenger door L1. The aircraft landed safely on Montreal's runway 24R about 20 minutes later. Following landing the runway was inspected with nothing found.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found the L1 door deflector damaged. The deflector was trimmed according to maintenance manuals and the aircraft was released to the flight under minimum equipment list requirements.

The aircraft reached Orlando with a delay of 3 hours.
