An Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A340-300, registration LV-CSF performing flight AR-1160 (dep Dec 17th) from Buenos Aires Ezeiza,BA (Argentinas) to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was climbing through FL290 out of Ezeiza Airport when the crew levelled off at FL290 due to a problem with one of the engines (CFM56) and decided to return to Buenos Aires. The aircraft dumped fuel at 8000 feet. On final approach to Ezeiza's runway 35 the crew went around from about 500 feet AGL due to changing winds, the aircraft positioned for an approach to runway 17 and landed safely about 2 hours after stopping the climb.

A replacement Airbus A340-300 registration LV-FPV reached Barcelona with a delay of 13 hours.
