A Republic Airways Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N433YX performing flight YX-4270/AA-4270 from Miami,FL to Pittsburgh,PA (USA) with 59 people on board, was enroute at FL330 about 25nm north of Jacksonville,FL (USA) when the crew reported the smell of smoke in the cockpit and decided to divert to Jacksonville for a safe landing about 20 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 1:45 hours then continued the journey and reached Pittsburgh with a delay of 2.5 hours.

The airline reported the crew noticed smell of smoke in the cockpit. After landing maintenance was unable to reproduce the problem or identify a fault, as a precaution cleaned the air conditioning systems and replaced the oxygen canisters, then released the aircraft back to service.
