An Austrian Airlines Fokker 70, registration OE-LFQ performing flight OS-689 from Vienna (Austria) to Minsk (Belarus) with 75 passengers, was enroute at FL310 about 70nm southsouthwest of Krakov (Poland), still in Slovakian Airspace, when the crew decided to return to Vienna, where the aircraft landed safely about 45 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 60 minutes, then departed again and reached Minsk with a delay of about 100 minutes.

The airline reported that the crew received indications of a possible technical defect, a repair in Minsk was associated with risks, hence the crew decided to return to Vienna, where the defect could be quickly fixed.
