A Jazz Canadair CRJ-100, registration C-GMJA performing flight QK-8833 from Moncton,NB to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 22 people on board, was enroute about 85nm southsoutheast of Quebec City,QC (Canada) when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and diverted the aircraft to Quebec City for a safe landing on runway 29 about 25 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified a right hand glareshield floodlight assembly had shorted and melted. The assembly was replaced.
