A Westjet Boeing 737-800, registration C-GKWJ performing flight WS-1484 from Edmonton,AB (Canada) to Palm Springs,CA (USA) with 128 people on board, was enroute at FL350 in contact with Salt Lake Area Control Center when the aircraft encountered turbulence causing injuries to a flight attendant, who was unable to continue duties. The aircraft continued to Palm Springs for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported that Edmonton Flight Information Center had issued Significant Meteorologic Information indicating turbulence due to mountain wave activity and reported moderate turbulence between FL370 and FL390. The Westjet crew reported moderate turbulence at FL350 to Salt Lake Area Control Center. The flight attendant received minor injuries in the turbulence encounter but was unable to continue duties.
