An Air Canada Boeing 767-300, registration C-FPCA performing flight AC-810 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Istanbul (Turkey) with 169 people on board, departed Toronto's runway 23, the tail bumper contacted the runway surface during rotation however resulting in a TAILSKID EICAS message. The crew levelled off at 10,000 feet and discussed whether a fault had occurred. The crew subsequently continued the climb and was enroute at FL330 about 400nm northeast of Toronto when the crew in consultation with dispatch decided to return to Toronto advising ATC of a possible pressurization problem. The aircraft descended to FL320 for the return and landed safely on Toronto's runway 15L about 2:10 hours after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance performed a tailstrike/skid inspection and found the tailskid shoe had scraped the runway requiring repairs. In addition a stabilizer trim position indicating test was performed with no anomaly found.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service on Aug 21st 2015.
