An Air Madagascar Boeing 737-300, registration 5R-MFL performing flight MD-194 from Antsiranana (Madagascar) to Saint Denis (Reunion) with 130 people on board, was enroute about 25 minutes into the flight when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Antananarivo reporting a hydraulic problem. The aircraft landed safely in Antananarivo about 50 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers rebooked onto other flights to Reunion.

The airline reported that one of four hydraulic pumps had failed.
