An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N933AN performing flight AA-1423 from West Palm Beach,FL to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), was climbing out of West Palm Beach when the crew stopped the climb at FL300 due to a loud squeal in the cockpit making communication between the pilots more than difficult. The aircraft diverted to Orlando,FL (USA) for a safe landing about 30 minutes later. The passengers disembarked.

Maintenance identified a number of bolts at the captain's windshield were loose, retorqued the bolts, performed pressurization tests (which was why the passengers needed to disembark) and released the aircraft to continue the flight.

The aircraft reached Dallas with a delay of 3:15 hours.
