A S7 Sibir Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration VP-BVH performing flight S7-1023 from Moscow Domodedovo to Sochi (Russia) with 246 passengers, was on approach to Sochi's runway 02 when the crew initiated a go around from about 1500 feet MSL reporting an unsafe gear indication. The aircraft climbed to 1800 meters and entered a hold to work the checklists, then positioned for another approach to runway 02 and landed safely about 35 minutes after aborting the first approach.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Sochi about 3 hours after landing.

The airline confirmed the aircraft went around due to a gear problem. The cause of the gear problem is being examined and a decision is made of how to take the 193 passengers booked onto the return flight S7-1024 to Moscow.
