An Air India Airbus A320-200, registration VT-ESE performing flight AI-821 from Jammu to Srinagar (India) with 149 passengers and 7 crew, burst tyres while landing at Srinagar at about 14:10L (08:40Z). The aircraft came to a safe stop on the runway and was disabled. The runway received damage as result of the occurrence. There were no injuries, the passengers disembarked onto the runway and were taken to the terminal.

The aircraft was moved off the runway by the evening, the airport is estimated to resume operation by Tuesday morning. 17 flights needed to be cancelled as result of the occurrence.

No Metars is available for Srinagar, the local weather station reported calm winds, visibility of 4000 meters and overcast cloud at 11:30L and winds from southwest at 2 knots, visibility 4000 meters and partly cloudy at 14:30L.
