A Cityjet Avro RJ-85 on behalf of Air France, registration EI-RJX performing flight WX-1117/AF-1117 from Dublin (Ireland) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 86 people on board, was enroute at FL310 about 55nm southwest of Birmingham,EN (UK) when the crew decided to divert to Birmingham due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft landed safely about 25 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

The occurrence aircraft positioned to Paris about 19 hours after landing.
